Reef fishing normally begins with an early morning start as anglers wait with anticipation as the boat is positioned on top of the reef pinnacles as the sun rises. Snapper and Pearl Perch are generally plentiful and targeted because of the excellent eating qualities. Other reef dwellers, including kingfish, jewfish and parrot are also regularly caught by our anglers.

Daily reef fishing charters are available for groups of up to 10 anglers. Extended day charters or overnight charter is also extremely popular during the warmer months. Extended charters, normally from 5am – 9pm allow anglers to continue fishing as the sun sets. It is common knowledge that dusk is arguably the most productive time for bigger reef fish species, and being there when the BIG fish come on the bite is certainly worth it!

Saltwater Charters also offers clients extended overnight charters for 2 – 5 days. Generally clients opting for an overnight charter have the option of mixing fishing styles between game/sport fishing and deep sea reef fishing. Clients can either be accommodated at Tangalooma Resort, Moreton Island, or alternately, for small groups can choose live-aboard
