Charter Options - Heavy Tackle Marlin

Saltwater Charters vessel SEA BABY 2 has built an enviable reputation for producing big marlin from the Great Barrier Reef in far north Queensland. The Great Barrier Reef has proven to be the best heavy tackle grounds in the world by producing more “grander” marlin each year than any other marlin area in the world. Saltwater Charters offers exclusive game and reef fishing adventures in the pristine waters of the Reef. During the months of September - December, large pelagic marlin migrate with the warm water currents along the outer-edge of the coral reef.

Fish of around 400-800 pound are regularly caught by anglers. In amongst these “rats” are some much bigger fish weighing in excess of 1000 pounds. SEA BABY 2 holds the record for one of the largest fish ever taken in Cairns – a 1347 pound black marlin!
